    People seem to forget that this is Senna in his prime, while Schuey was still in his early years. Even though Schumacher was driving a superior car, you can still appreciate Senna's brilliance. Let's not get involved in throwing sh.t to each other, just watch two extraordinary driver doing what they lived for. Peace.

      I mean, both had around 5 years of F1 experience under their belts in their respective videos. Sometimes is easy to forget that Senna only raced for 10 years in F1 before dying, given his legacy. I just wish Senna survived '94 and competed more against Schumacher. We were robbed a great rivalry. RIP Ayrton and God bless Michael and his family.

      Do you mean FFB? It does have that through patches and additional plugins, though you have to play around with the settings to get a good feeling for your particular wheel. With increased frames and the newest mods, it’s still quite a blast!

    It's a really interesting comparison. I didn't realize the times were so close. Suzuka had been resurfaced during that time, but also the '95 gen cars were the first with the 50mm step and 3.0 liter engine; they'd lost a bit of pace. Smaller rear tyres too.

    Yeah they both were exceptional drivers, but you can feel the speed on Senna's video, i think Senna was more extreme, always to the limit and had that instinct to achieve every curve perfectly... Schumacher was more a classic driver like Prost, driving without taking risks and always 2 o 3 degrees away from the limit... They both were incredible, but Senna will always be the "example of what a driver should be".

    very different cars. 1989 has more power and wider tyres, 1995 has a semi automatic gear box and better brakes. People seem to forget 1995 cars were VERY SLOW because of the deaths in 1994. Take this video as a curiosity in how different cars can make a very similar time on the same circuit, little else.

    • @hristoitchov
      @hristoitchov 26 дней назад

      That's the point of the video - a curious coincidence. In terms of specs, there are some important similarities too - engine peak power output for both cars at around 700 hp, weight for both at 500 kg. What Senna in his McLaren perhaps had as an advantage with wider qualifying tyres, Schumacher in his Benetton compensated for with better aerodynamics. Both are obviously extracting the absolute maximum, from their cars in qualifying, so the purpose of this is just to enjoy and not to argue who is better.

    MP4/5 weight 500 kilos x 700 hp - B195 weight 600 kilos x 690 hp. I don't know if this details was realy, for sure the B195 had a better aerodinamica, but here we would see that during the initial fast corners Schumacher was faster than Ayrton, than the incredible MP4/5 power and lite, especially in the last fast corner, gain some meters in straight. Too difficoult understand who between them was faster, but for sure this compare show to all a battle between two F1's titans...

      different tyres, different chassis, different engine power, and you're using the logic the car is 6 years newer ignoring the fact the 1989 Mclaren had the tyres which helped a lot and also more speed in the straight, i love Senna but comparing the 1989 cars with 1995 cars (which were slower due to Senna passing away ), only to downplay Schumacher is unfair

    • @Tenn1972

      @@Tenn1972 i'm objective, i'm stating facts about the characteristics of a car , the Benetton had less grip , and having less grip in track like suzuka means a huge lost of time and also Senna didn't beat Prost in 1988-1989 let alone Michael , he won 1988 due to best results system and people dare to say Prost was helped by Balestre.

    I love me an ultra high revving v10 as much as the next fella, but something about those 3.5 Honda V10s of '89-90 made it sound like it'd rip your head off for looking at the accelerator wrong. Phenomenal exhaust note.

  • @paolociarpaglini1303
    @paolociarpaglini1303 4 месяца назад

    On a single lap like here in qualifying, the semiautomatic gear box make a very slightly difference, may be around 1 tenth or less. Bout makes a perfect lap, but at the last hard brake, Ayrton make something that only him succeeded to do, put the front car in the chigane still on brakes and gain around 4 thents. However, that point in to '95 was modified, so it' s extremely difficult judging who is faster. Example, in the first three fast corners Michael gain something but at the fourth Ayrton return equal to Michael. Respect for bout those phenomenal drivers!!.

  • @paolociarpaglini1303
    @paolociarpaglini1303 4 месяца назад

    This is Senna the '89 correct pole time by Ayrton and the same about the' 95 pole time by MS. In my opinion the only esplaine for this controversy is the different finish line, just a bit anticipate on '89 Suzuka circuit. There is'nt another possible explaine..

  • @JJfani
    @JJfani 4 месяца назад

    yeah Prost just admit it you were slower, and everyone saw what you did with your steering wheel

  • @paolociarpaglini1303
    @paolociarpaglini1303 5 месяцев назад

    The power difference was around 40 hp (650 V10 Honda - 690 V10 Renault), but the McLaren set up was the lowest possible, while the Benetton tall by the asphalt was forced to be higher by the wooden step below the car. That explaine why in six years the down force was equal. The only difference was the steering assistance and the gears back the steering, but in my opinion that would give a vantage around one tenth/sec per lap in a qualifying lap. Senna knows very well Suzuka, much better than Michael. However, in qualifying Ayrton would to be extremely aggressive an the only difference was at the last hard brake. He succeeded to braking before the last and slow chigane in a very singol way and gain thents, it's clearly visible. For the rest was a draw. I think that MS with the same Ayrton experience and same car would have fight hard at every GP for takes the pole. I still remind when Hakkinen DEBUT, beat Ayrton by 48 milliseconds in Aida '93 and i' m very disappointed that not exist a comparison about it. And what about Spa '93 where Benetton and McLaren had the same engine power (720hp)?. Schumacher second place back Damon but a had Alain on WILLIAMS!. Ayrton 4th at 1':39.763, MS gap by Hill, only 3':668 and Alain 3rd at 11":320 by Michael a driver with only two years of experience in F1..!.

    • @hristoitchov
      @hristoitchov 5 месяцев назад

      There are other differences too. Senna was using qualifying compound tyres, which were wider too,compared to those from 95. Overall the McLaren had more drag. Also the gearboxes, wheelbases and even the fuel were different as well. Lastly as others have pointed out, the chicane in 95 was a bit different position and layout. We also have to assume the asphalt was changed at least once too. Lots of differences overall, which is why it makes it a nice coincidence that they did such similar lap times. And I don’t think Schumacher wasn’t pushing, it’s just that his car is more stable so it looks smoother. If you look up Senna onboards from 93 and 94 with the narrower tyres, he’s much smoother too compared to in the past.
